Fertility FAQ

Q: How does acupuncture help fertility? Acupuncture improves your neuroendocrine axis (the communication between your nervous and endocrine systems), enhances circulation to your ovaries and uterus, and dramatically reduces stress – all of which benefit fertility! Because of its effectiveness, acupuncture is often recommended by fertility doctors and clinics.

Q: What about herbs? Herbal medicines have been used for fertility issues for centuries. They can balance your endocrine system, reduce inflammation, and regulate overall health. In cases where herbal medicine is not recommended (such as during an IVF cycle), acupuncture, nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments can be used.

Q: How long does it take to work? There is no way for any healthcare provider to predict when or if you will become pregnant. However, in cases where pregnancy is achieved, it usually happens within 3 to 12 months of treatment. If you decide to try IUI or IVF, your body will be more prepared to respond to its fullest potential because of the time you have spent on your fertility program.

Q: What are my chances of success? Your situation and your body is unique. Once I meet with you, I will be able to give you my best estimate of time and prognosis of outcome.
